Worship and Praise: Part 1 of 3

Preview: The proper way to worship and praise the Lord. This is the first part of a three-part series of lessons on this subject.


Scripture Reading: I Chronicles 29:1, I Chronicles 29:9-20.

Memory Verse: Psalm 21:13.

1. How did David exalt the strength and power of God in the foregoing Scriptures?
Note: Praise means to give honor to God with gladness and thanksgiving. David truly did this in proclaiming that all power and wisdom comes from God.
2. How did David say that we should praise the Lord? I Chronicles 16:8-10 & I Chronicles 16:28-29.
Note: We should be generous with offerings and praise.
3. How often should we glorify and sing praise to God to those who do not know Him? I Chronicles 16:23-25, I Chronicles 16:31, Psalm 34:1, & Psalm 92:1-2.
4. How should we praise the Lord in the Church? Psalm 22:22, Psalm 22:25, Psalm 24:7-10 & Psalm 26:12.
5. Should we praise Him in song? Psalm 28:7 & Psalm 30:4.
6. Should He be praised through musical instruments? Psalm 33:1-3.
7. Is it permissible to lift up and clap our hands and shout for joy in our praise to God? Psalm 47:1, Psalm 63:3-4 & Psalm 34:2.
Note: Christians should be as joyful and enthusiastic about praising and proclaiming victory in Jesus as the spectators at a sports rally are in praising their team.
8. Must a spirit of thanksgiving be part of our praise? Psalm 35:18, Psalm 79:13 & Psalm 100:4.
9. Will we bow down and kneel before God in honor and praise? Psalm 95:6.
10. Why should we praise Him? Psalm 145:3-9.
Note: It is impossible to know God and not praise Him continually.
